Add/Edit 360 Search Target lets you add a new 360 search target or change the settings for an existing 360 search target. A search target specifies the databases on the federated search host that you want to connect to, and how you want Portfolio to interpret the data that is returned from the federated search target.

Target Name

Displays the name of the search target that you are editing.

Note: If you are adding a search target, this information does not display.

Server

Displays the name of the search source for which you are adding or editing a search target.

Name

Specifies the system name of the search target (up to 80 characters). This name is used to identify the search target on the Search Targets page and on any other pages in the Admin console that display the search target name.

For this field, you can also specify an alternate name for a specific language. Choose the language from the drop-down list of supported languages, then enter the localized name in the field.

Note: If your web browser is configured to use a display language that is not supported by Portfolio and you have chosen to display the Admin console in a language other than the default language (en_US), the language that displays in the drop-down list of supported languages defaults to US English.

If a localized name already exists for a specific language, the software displays that language name differently in the drop-down list. When you enter a localized name for a specific language, the language name appears with a “++” suffix. If you clear the localized name for a specific language, the software displays the language name without the different formatting.

Important: Any changes that you make to the localized name are not saved until you click OK.

Description

Specifies a text description of this search target (up to 255 characters). This description is displayed on the Search Targets page.

Timeout (ms)

Specifies the number of milliseconds to wait before timing out if the search target is unavailable or is not responding.

Show target in a separate tab

Displays the tab that opens the results of the target on the same level as the Catalog and Database tabs in the Searching interface. When this option is not selected, the tab displays under the Database tab along with any other federated targets enabled for the profile.

Database List

Available

Displays a list of all the available databases for this search target.

You can select or multiselect one or more databases and then choose the Select button, or you can double-click individual databases to move them to the Selected list.

Selected

Specifies the name of the database that you want to associate with the 360 search target.

Displays a list of databases selected for this search target.

You can select or multiselect one or more databases and then choose the Remove button, or you can double-click individual databases to move them to the Available list. Select a single database and use the arrow buttons to move it up or down in the list.

To add or remove databases in the list, choose the database and then use these buttons:

Option

Description

Select

Moves the selected database from the Available list to the Selected list.

Remove

Removes the selected database from the Selected list and returns it to the Available list.

Note: These buttons are context-sensitive based on which database(s) you choose. (For example, if you select a database from the Available list, the Remove option is disabled because that command is not available for available databases. If you select a database from the Selected list, the Remove option is enabled because that command is available for selected databases.)
